1848 Maritime: E.L. from Buenos Aires (17 Apr) to Bath in England written at the time of the Anglo-French blockade endorsed "p. Spider Pkt." with superb BUENOS AYRES/0 Falmouth arrival in red with manuscript "2/7" rating. The Spider was a 10-gun naval brig that operated in the River Plate area £900AR/16333/C
1855 British PO: E.L. from Buenos Aires (1 Aug) to Cadiz in Spain endorsed "p. Canarias" with fine crown-circle PAID/AT/BUENOS AYRES and British PO backstamp. Disinfected by slits with SANTA CRUZ/CANARIAS b/stamp and circular "4R" rating in red overstruck by large "8R" rating in blue on arrival in Cadiz. A most attractive cover £900AR/16334/C
1859 Mensagieras: stampless cover from Villa de Mercedes (17 Jan) to Buenos Aires with fine oval "AGENCIA CALLE/RIVADAVIA 285" in blue with second strike alongside. Scarce SOLDAR/16325/C
1860 Confederation: cover from Parana to Buenos Aires with fine good to large margined 1858 5c red tied by oval FRANCA with CORREOS DEL PARANA cds (31 May) alongside both in blue £180AR/16328/C
1860 c. Buenos Aires: cover addressed to Mercedes (Uruguay) with fine single 1859 1p blue good to large margins tied by double oval MERCEDES cancel on arrival. Faults but a unique usage SOLDAR/16330/C
1867 : E.L. (8 Dec) from Bella Vista (Corrientes) to Buenos Aires endorsed inside "pr. Esmeralda" with 1867 perforated 5c Rivadavia on unwmkd paper tied by oval of dots cancel applied on arrival £300AR/16332/C
1875 Maritime: cover from Buenos Aires with sender's cachet to Marseilles endorsed "Par Orinoque" with 1868 5c ABN Co. issue tied by fancy mute circular cancel with cds alongside.
